Andrew Shue and Marilee Fiebig are engaged, according to The Shade Room, which identifies them as the ex-spouses of Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes. The “Melrose Place” alum, 59, and the immigration attorney, 49, took their relationship to the next level after more than three years of dating, The Shade Room reports; Shue recently shared that the couple got engaged this past spring, telling PEOPLE, “We’re very grateful and hopeful.” Hollywood Life reports that Shue, the “Melrose Place” star, proposed to Fiebig, described as his girlfriend of nearly three years; a separate Hollywood Life piece identifies Fiebig as Holmes’ ex.
Their romance comes after their respective marriages to Robach and Holmes ended, following the former ABC co-hosts’ relationship making headlines in November 2022, The Shade Room reports. Both couples were separated at the time and eventually divorced, and in the months that followed, Shue and Fiebig developed a friendship that gradually grew into something more, according to The Shade Room. “This just happened to be our way of getting to know each other and being able to share ourselves with each other in a time where we both needed a friend,” Shue said of their unconventional journey, per The Shade Room, which also quoted him saying, “I don’t know how it happened, but there’s a happy ending.” Reflecting on his divorce, Shue said, “I had to accept my own part in marriage not working out for me,” according to The Shade Room.
Hollywood Life reports that Robach and Holmes, former “GMA3” co-anchors, lost their jobs at ABC News following an off-screen romance between the two. Robach and Holmes first sparked romance rumors in November 2022, when photos surfaced of them holding hands during a trip to upstate New York and getting cozy at a New York City bar, The Shade Room reported; at the time, Robach was married to Shue and Holmes was married to Fiebig, and a source previously told PEOPLE that there was no overlap between their relationship and their respective marriages, according to The Shade Room.
Robach and Holmes have since married, according to The Shade Room: citing a marriage license obtained by PEOPLE, the outlet reported the former co-anchors exchanged vows on September 19 in Washington County, Arkansas, one day after applying for their marriage license, and the document was registered with the county clerk’s office on October 13. Holmes, 49, was born in West Memphis, Arkansas, and attended the University of Arkansas, The Shade Room reported; representatives for Robach, 53, and Holmes did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment, according to the outlet.
The Shade Room says commenters on its Instagram account responded to the engagement news, with one writing, “Love this for them both.” With Robach and Holmes married and Shue revealing his engagement to Fiebig, The Shade Room wrote that both couples “appear to have entered new chapters following their highly publicized relationship changes.”
